VRBO - Vacation Rentals by Owner
Sometimes when traveling, you don't want to stay in a hotel or resort. You'd rather stay in a condo or house to get a different lodging experience. A few years ago, I found a great resource for just that. It's called VRBO, which stands for Vacation Rentals By Owner. I've been using this great website for vacation planning ever since! Each rental has a great little availability calendar, which shows when time are available for renting. The better rentals usually have lotsa pictures so you can get an idea of how the place is laid out and what to expect. It looks like they have implemented a commenting system so other renters can comment on their experience for a particular place...although not all owners have enabled this. I would recommend that all owners do this to generate more income and to receive feedback. Something I would like to see the site have is some kind of rating system where renters can rate the rentals from 1-5 or 1-10 stars. Then people can organize the rentals by most popular when they are browsing on the website. You can check out VRBO here to start your vacation planning!
Excellent idea and fairly easy to implement, our Rome rentals site could use a feature like this, thank you for sharing this.
I think the rating system is an excellent idea. People renting vacations homes are a little apprehensive about renting homes.
