North Shore's Surf-N-Sea
Located in Haleiwa on the North Shore, Surf-N-Sea is probably my favorite place in Hawaii to shop for tshirts, board shorts, and other cool beach/summer apparel. I've always found really cool brand name clothing there (Quicksilver, Reef, Roxy, etc). The tshirts are pretty cheap, and the store always seems to have something on sale when I was there. This is where I purchased my first pair of Reef sandals since the plastic flip flops I had were really chaffing the tops of my feet raw. I was in pain! Once I put on those Reef sandals, I felt as if I was floating on air. That's an exaggeration, but I could feel a huge difference. I had those Reef sandals for a few years until some idiot stole them from me when I was having fun at the Hawaiian Adventure Water Park. It was a bummer...
Well I got off track there didn't I? You can find Surf-N-Sea in the old town of Haleiwa. Haleiwa is a pretty little town with some great shave ice shops and other cool stores to check out. The store is employed by friendly local kids that look like they were born to surf with sun bleached hair and dark tans.
Besides tshirts and sandals, scuba diving and surfing gear are sold to those in need. Gear for snorkeling and even free diving grace their shelves.
The store's also a great central location to experience many a Hawaiian activity. They offer surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and many other adventures. They even conduct shark tours! That's something I must try one of these days.
