This picture almost looks black and white, but it's not. The black sand beaches of Hana make for some neat high contrast photos.

The black sands of Hana's beaches are hauntingly beautiful. Having a dark overturned canoe reflect the blue sky, made for an interesting photo.
The "jungle" side of Maui

I love the dense rain forest on the north side of Maui. The long winding road to Hana provides some great shots of big green leaves and tropical breeze... :)

I took this shot with slide film on the way to Hana. It's very wet and a dense rain forest on this side of the island. A lot of mosquitoes also when I was there in August.

Once again Maui sunsets are awesome from the northwest side of the island.
